Etymology

MALP

Hasayfu is a type of Hung Kuen or Hung Gar kung fu style. It is derived from the original term Ha Say Fu, which has similar pronunciation but makes use of different characters that used to refer to the for lower districts in Guangdong Province whereas Hasayfu literally means "Lower Four Tigers". Others say tha Hasayfu may have been known as Zhanjiang Hung Kuen in China. It was Grandmaster Wing Lam who gave it the name Ha Say Fu (Lower Four Districts) until his students who wanted a little more inspired title or name decided to pronounce the character for "province" as "tiger". Since then, the sytle was then known as Hasayfu ("The Four Lower Tigers").
