Description of Hakko Ryu Jujitsu

MALP

Hakko-ryu Jujuitsu or just Hakko-ryu as most call it is a style of jujitsu founded by Okuyama Ryuho in 1941. Aside from being a practitioner of shiatsu, Okuyama Ryuho is a student of Sokaku Takeda, the founder of Daito-ryu Aikijujitsu to which Hakko-ryu shares close similarities to. Hakkoryu means "The Style of the Eight Light". The color spectrum has seven color bands but there is a belief that states that there is an eighth, narrow, invisible band known as the "Eighth Light".

In terms of fighting techniques, Hakkoryu makes use of moves that work around the practitioner's and his opponent's motion. These techniques do not require so much strength and instead requires a level of agility, speed and flexibility. Its principles adhere to the avoidance of conflict as much as possible and its techniques aim to reflect these principles by avoiding "conflict" by working against or with the natural motions of the body to achieve desired results.
